The house is in a perfect location in a great neighborhood and has a fantastic yard! I love the exterior of the house with the long porch and the white columns. Just look at this backyard! And it has fruit trees!
There is also a deck that stretches along the whole back of the house. It's the perfect place for a swimming pool....someday! Now, that brings us to the inside of the house! The layout is almost exactly what I was looking for! It is very hard to find a house that has all the bedrooms on the same end together. Most every house has a split bedroom design. Luckily, this house has all the rooms right together. I just feel weird for my kids to be all the way on the other side of the house from me. It also has an amazing entryway, a dining room and a den that we are converting to a toy room, but she does need a little facelift. This house was built the best it could be in 1984 but now I think it's time to give her some new life, a little freshening up, and our own personal touch.
There is a lot of wallpaper, a lot of oak wood, and a lot of popcorn ceilings.
So far we have gotten off to a pretty good start. We have already cleaned up the shop located on the property. I will have a before and after post on that very soon!
And, I am almost finished transforming the above room into the kids playroom! This is where my New Year's resolution comes in! I want to have the whole house at least partially updated by Sissy's birthday in September! That gives me a timeline of roughly 1 room per month! It's kind of a big task, especially with limited time and a VERY limited budget, but I think I can handle it. I hope! I also hope you all will enjoy following along on our journey as I blog about each room redo. We definitely aren't the Gaines, but I will definitely enjoy our little "Fixer Upper!"
